Sponsor Eligibility and Application Requirements
Eligibility
You are eligible to hire a UROP student if you are affiliated with Florida State University as a faculty member, lecturer, research scientist, or post-doctoral fellow in any school or college. Others may be eligible, but questions regarding sponsor eligibility should be sent to Dr. Joe O’Shea, Associate Director, Office of Undergraduate Research, at joshea@fsu.edu.
Application Requirements
The Research Sponsor application requires the following information:
- Contact information
- A description of the research project, including the purpose and methodology of the research
- Student tasks and responsibilities. UROP encourages Research Sponsors to give students a variety of work with increasing responsibility and difficulty as the year progresses
- Hours research assistant is needed to work per week
- Number of assistants desired (Research Sponsors may request multiple assistants)
